DESCRIPTION:History Makers\, Future Shapers: An Evening of Appreciation Celebrates Hattiesburg Area Educators\n\nFree teacher appreciation event offers museum tours\, refreshments\, prizes and exclusive educator resources\n\nIn celebration of the incredible educators who shape the future of our community\, the Sixth Street Museum District is proud to host "History Makers\, Future Shapers: An Evening of Appreciation\," a special free event honoring teachers and education professionals from across the Greater Hattiesburg area on May 7th from 5:00   7:30 p.m. at Historic Eureka School.\n\nDesigned as a welcoming and inspiring experience\, this educator appreciation event will provide local teachers with an opportunity to relax\, connect\, and enjoy an evening created just for them. Guests will have the opportunity to experience museum tours\, engaging interactive activities\, refreshments\, and exciting prize giveaways\, while also learning more about museum resources that support classroom teaching and extend learning beyond school walls.\n\nThe event recognizes the essential role educators play in preserving the stories of the past while guiding the leaders of tomorrow.\n\nA special highlight of the evening will be complimentary root beer floats\, malts\, and milkshakes from Smith's\, offering attendees a nostalgic and delicious treat as a thank-you for their service to students and families throughout their communities.\n\nThis event is open to actively employed teachers and education professionals in the Greater Hattiesburg area who are 21 years of age or older.\n\nPlease note: Educators are asked to bring their current school\, work-badge or employee ID for check-in and entry.\n\n"Teachers are truly the bridge between history and the future\," said Latoya Norman\, Director of Museums.
