On Saturday, December 11th, the African American Military History Museum will be filled with the sweet sounds of Christmas carolers, decorated with beautiful holiday decor and warmed by the light of its crackling fireplace. Individuals and families of all ages are welcome to stop by between 12:00 noon and 2:00 p.m. to enjoy light refreshments. There will be a complementary gift-wrapping station where visitors can get help wrapping their holiday presents. Santa Clause will be on-site for pictures, and the military museum will be open for tours. “This is an annual event that we are so happy to bring back to the African American Military History Museum,” said Latoya Norman, Director of Museums for the Hattiesburg Convention Commission. “This has been a special place for families to visit, and this year will certainly delight those who stop by.” The Christmas Open House is open to the public and is free of charge. Visitors are encouraged to bring an unwrapped toy to support the AAMHM’s longtime partnership with Toys for Tots.
