Brownstone's Thanksgiving Day Free Meal for the Public

Brownstone's Thanksgiving Day Free Meal for Recover, Rebuild, Restore of Southeast MS - R3SM. Hattiesburg, MS.  Brownstone's Restaurant is beginning a new tradition and trading-in their famous New Orleans cuisine for a turkey dinner on Thanksgiving Day. Located at 103 East Front Street in Downtown Hattiesburg brownstone's will serve the public over 300 free Thanksgiving dinners. Volunteers from the community will serve all the thanksgiving trimmings from 11 am to 4 pm on Thursday, Nov. 26, 2009. Food will be donated and prepared by Brownstone's staff and family, Big Star Supermarket, Sysco Foods, Strick's Bar-B-Q, Gold Post, along with volunteers from the community and R3SM. Although dinner is free, donations are requested as a thank you and to assist R3SM with their continued work to assist area families Restore, Rebuild and Recover. A United Way Agency which is South Central Mississippi's Long Term Recovery non-profit agency that currently serves 28 counties. These extra dollars will support and assist in the renovation of the Volunteer House at 301 Buschman St. This home will serve individuals (elderly, disabled and single parents) whose homes are damaged by hurricanes, tornados, flooding, fire and other catastrophic events. The entire Hattiesburg community is invited to attend this new family tradition of a free Thanksgiving dinner and give thanks while enjoying the beauty of downtown Hattiesburg! The Brown Family along with Joel Edwards, General Manager and brownstone's staff will be preparing free delicious turkey dinners with all the trimming compliments. The Brown's find this time of year to be an occasion to show gratitude within the community by preparing a tasty dinner that will leave guests ready to relax and enjoy their holiday. All Donations may be made to R3SM as a thank you and to assist them with their work in the local neighborhoods. The meal will be a Buffet style, volunteer plated meal to avoid lines and make the day more enjoyable to spend with family and friends. A cash bar will be available.
