EV Mississippi, a non-profit organization advocating for the support of hybrid and electric vehicles, announces the date for the Spring Drive Electric and Pet Adoption Event. The Event, in partnership with PetSmart and the Hub City Humane Society, will take place on Saturday, April 22 (Earth Day) from 10am until 2pm at the Hattiesburg PetSmart location on Highway 98.
Representatives from Mississippi Power, BMW of Jackson, Walt Massey Automotive Group, Tesla, Tesla Owners Club of Mississippi, and other organizations will be present to discuss initiatives to promote electric vehicle growth and infrastructure. Owners and enthusiasts will also be on-hand to answer questions about owning and driving electric vehicles. Electric vehicles are fun to drive and offer great benefits such as low maintenance and lower cost to fuel.
Hub City Humane Society is an open admission animal shelter servicing Lamar County and the City of Petal dedicated to providing compassionate care of homeless, neglected and abused animals. Pets will be available for adoption on-site at the event.
There will be several electric-themed prizes raffled off at the event. Owners who bring their vehicle for the show will receive a raffle ticket. Participants who test drive a vehicle will receive one raffle ticket for each unique vehicle they test drive. There will also be a donation table setup for Hub City Humane Society and contributors will receive 1 raffle ticket for every $5 in donations. EV Mississippi invites the public to come out and enjoy the activities while exploring a variety of electric vehicles and pets available for adoption.
