EV Mississippi, a non-profit organization advocating for the support of hybrid and electric vehicles, has partnered with PetSmart and the Hub City Humane Society for our Spring Drive Electric and National Adopt-A-Pet Event. The event will take place on Saturday, April 23 from 10am until 2pm at the Hattiesburg PetSmart location on Highway 98.
Representatives from Mississippi Power, Solar Alternatives, BMW, Tesla, and other organizations will be present to discuss initiatives to promote electric vehicle growth and infrastructure. Owners and enthusiasts will also be on-hand to answer questions about owning and driving electric vehicles. There will be demonstrations on charging Tesla-specific vehicles utilizing the Tesla SuperChargers located adjacent to the event. Electric vehicles are fun to drive and offer great benefits such as low maintenance and lower cost to fuel.
Hub City Humane Society is an open admission animal shelter servicing Lamar County and the City of Petal dedicated to providing compassionate care of homeless, neglected and abused animals. Pets will be available for adoption on-site at the event.
There will be two raffles during the event. One raffle will be for those who take qualifying test drives in an electric or hybrid vehicle. The other raffle will be for owner-participants who bring an electric or hybrid vehicle to show. The prize for both raffles is an electric scooter by GoTrax. EV Mississippi invites the public to come out and enjoy food and activities while exploring a variety of electric vehicles and pets available for adoption.
