The Hattiesburg Zoo is introducing a new, 21+ event series, Later at Ladha’s, which will take place April 22nd and 29th from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Ladha’s Overlook in its Africa exhibit. Admission to Later at Ladha’s is $5 and IDs will be checked at the gate.
Upon arrival to the Zoo, guest will board the new, all-electric train and enjoy the ride to Africa, so there will be no need to worry about damaging those work shoes. Once in Africa the relaxation can begin. “Where else in Hattiesburg can you gather with friends enjoying food and cocktails while observing the giraffe yard and soaking in the late afternoon sun,” said Demetric Kelly, Director of Guest Services and Retail. “Ladha’s Overlook has the best views in the city, and we know our guests are going to love this experience.”
Ladha’s Cantina will have available its new Africa-inspired menu items including Mbawa Za Kuku (smoked chicken wings), Mikate Ya Nyama (meat pies) and Nguruwe (pulled pork sandwich). Both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase.
In addition to having a fun night out with friends, guests will also have the opportunity to contribute to the conservation of wild giraffes by purchasing Later at Ladha’s specialty drink, The Golden Giraffe, made with Glenmorangie Nectar d’Or. Glenmorangie is a Scotch whiskey, which has pioneered a conservation partnership with the Giraffe Conservation Foundation charity, and strives to protect the future of wild giraffes in Africa.
Later at Ladha’s is open to adults 21 and older. Tickets are $5 each, but do not include food and beverage purchases. Later at Ladha’s is sponsored by Stokes Distributing. Ladha’s Overlook is ADA accessible.
