About Us

South Mississippi State Hospital, in Purvis, is an in-patient, acute-care, regional psychiatric behavioral healthcare program with the primary purpose to offer a continuum of services for adults with mental illness within the patient's region of residence. SMSH is operated under the umbrella of the Mississippi Department of Mental Health.
